Not many people know about “The Javelin AMC”, this car was built by “American Motors Corporation” between 1968 and 1970.
The Sporty Javelin came only in two-door style and was one of the first to adopt an economical version in addition to the high-performance muscle car.
In 1971 and 1972 the Javelin won the Trans-Am race series.
The second generation version was the first pony car to be used as a police car.
This Javelin AMC model is the same as the first Javelin generation debuted on August 22, 1967 for the year 1968.
AMC purchased Kaiser’s Jeep utility vehicle operations in 1970 and in 1980 partnered with Renault and in 1985 Chrysler entered into an agreement with AMC to produce several Dodge and Plymouth models.
In 1987, Renault sold its share to Chrysler to eventually merge completely and disappear as a brand.
AMC was the company behind the famous “Jeep Cherokee”.
