Insane Video for the 800 horsepower Fenyr on the track

It is no secret that W Motors makes the most beautiful and powerful cars, and what really sets it apart is its Emirati identity. Last spring, we got the opportunity to fully drive one of W Motors Cars “The Fenyr”. However, the test drive was a little bit limiting the full capacity of that wolf as it was performed on the streets of Dubai where speed limits are highly respected. We didn’t fully understand the power behind this machine until…

We were invited by W Motors during the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK to experience the VIP passenger ride and feel the true power of its Fenyr Super Sport on the Goodwood Hill Climb. The driver was a professional with several 24H Le Mans endurance titles. So how can we say no to such experience that will put us behind the wheels and feel firsthand the enormous power of this car?

We arrived at the super sports cars yard, overwhelmed by all the super and hyper cars there, one car stood out with its silky white color that was our ride. Wore the helmet and the right outfit and hopped in inside the Fenyr, as the engines roared and the checkered flag dropped announcing the start of the race; The Fenyr was first on the track which gave us an exhilarating experience as we rushed into the 0-100 KM/h under 2.8 sec you feel your soul leaving your body, to catch it up again as we reach the 200 KM/h in a blink of an eye. This wolf is capable of reaching a top speed of 400 km/h which honestly I don’t remember if we reached it or not as this experience was surreal.

The Fenyr proved once more that with its twin-turbo 6-cylinder flat mid-engine upgraded by RUF, the experts in Porsche engine tuning, can compete and sometimes exceed the 12-cylinder Super Cars. The Fenyr engine is a 3.8-liter capable of producing 800 horsepower and 980 Nm or torque and if you don’t know what these figures mean all you have to do is watch the video.

Automobili Lamborghini achieves another record year: 3,815 cars delivered to customers in 2017

Viale-Ferruccio-Lamborghini-Arab-Motor-World

In Fiscal Year 2017 (1 Jan – 31 Dec), Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. set another historic sales record. With 3,815 cars delivered to customers around the world, the Italian super sports car producer continues its global growth for the seventh consecutive year.

The world premiere of the Super SUV Urus at the end of 2017, and its market introduction starting from summer 2018, marks a new in the 54-year history of the brand.

“In 2017 Lamborghini has proven to be in consistently good shape. Delivering another all-time high for the seventh consecutive year confirms the sustainability of our product and commercial strategy. We also significantly increased brand awareness, especially with the young generation, proved by the success of our social media channels. This is a real team achievement and I would like to thank the whole Lamborghini team for the work done. These accomplishments are all the more remarkable as we mastered an unprecedented double challenge: preparing for new models in our super sports car range, while simultaneously doubling production capacities at our headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, heralding a quantum leap in our product portfolio. The world premiere of our new Super SUV Urus in December was, without doubt, the highlight of the year,” says Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.

With 145 dealers serving 50 countries, worldwide deliveries to customers in 2017 increased from 3,457 to 3,815 units. This represents a double digit sales growth of 10% compared to the previous year. With a sustained sales growth performance over seven years, the company has almost tripled its sales numbers since 2010 (1,302 units). Beyond sales figures, Lamborghini  outperformed other key business objectives in 2017.*

Lamborghini is a global brand and sales distribution is well-balanced among the three regions, which each account for approximately one third of global sales. All regions set historic sales records in 2017 and contributed to the sales growth compared to the previous year: EMEA “Europe, Middle East, Africa” (1,477/+18%), America (1,338/+4%) and Asia Pacific (1,000/+9%).

With 1,095 units the USA remains the largest single market, followed by Japan (411), UK (353), Germany (303), Greater China (265), Canada (211) and the Middle East (164). Most of them increased deliveries significantly and marked national historic sales records.

Also both major model lines achieved record sales, thus contributing to the growth. The sales of the V12 model Lamborghini Aventador grew by 6% from 1,104 to 1,173 units. Even stronger was the sales increase of the V10 model Lamborghini Huracán, growing by 12% from 2,353 to 2,642 units.

New Models 2017

The year started with the dynamic presentation of new V12 model Aventador S Coupésetting benchmarks in technology and performance on both road and track. Since September 2017 its open version, the Aventador S Roadster, is adding a new dimension in driving enjoyment.

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017, the new Lamborghini Huracán Performante earned an overwhelming public resonance. Combining new lightweight technologies, active aerodynamics with aero vectoring and a new set-up of chassis, all-wheel-drive system and further improved powertrain, the Performante set many new lap records on international race tracks.

In November 2017 Lamborghini, in collaboration with two laboratories of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, gave an outlook onto a possible future Lamborghini electric super sports car. The concept car, Lamborghini Terzo Millennio, physically imagines design and technology theories of tomorrow, while sustaining the visual intrigue, breath-taking performance and emotion found in every dimension of a Lamborghini.

The highlight of the Fiscal Year 2017 was without doubt the world premiere of the new Super SUV Lamborghini Urus in Sant’Agata Bolognese in December. With its third model Lamborghini creates a new niche in the luxury segment with benchmarking power, performance and driving dynamics, unparalleled design, luxury and daily usability.

Automobili Lamborghini’s ongoing strategic investment program, aligned with the launch of the Urus, sees its production site now doubled with the creation of “Manifattura Lamborghini” inside new facilities, and with new technologies applied at its factory headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese. As well as expanding the site from 80,000 m2 to 160,000 m2, the Urus brings about a substantial increase in the company’s production capacity, doubling it to 7,000 units a year as well as a significant increase in its workforce with 500 new jobs already created.

Lamborghini Polo Storico

In March 2017 Automobili Lamborghini officially opened its new Polo Storico facility, a center dedicated to Lamborghini classic cars and the preservation of Lamborghini heritage.

In the new facility Polo Storico receives classic Lamborghini owners from all around the world and supports historic models and Lamborghini’s heritage through four main areas: restoration of historic Lamborghini models, archive management, original Lamborghini spare parts and official certification of Lamborghini historic cars.

Lamborghini Museum

The Lamborghini Museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese also registered a record year in terms of visitors. More than 100,000 enthusiasts visited the premises situated inside the Lamborghini factory in 2017. The Museum is open daily, including Sundays, from 9.30 am to 7 pm, and special exhibitions run alongside the permanent collection of historic Lamborghini models.

Lamborghini Squadra Corse

In September 2017 Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the motorsport department of Automobili Lamborghini, unveiled the new Huracán Super Trofeo EVO. The new race car raises the already high standards of the previous model with entirely redesigned aerodynamics, new devices to improve safety, and several improvements to its mechanics and electronics. The developments combine to offer drivers and teams an efficient and highly professional race car, which makes its track debut at the three continental series in Europe, Asia and North America from spring 2018.

During the customer GT racing season 2017, the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 won eight championship titles: Blancpain GT Series Overall, Drivers’ title and Team Endurance Cup; International GT Open Team and Drivers’ titles; Italian GT Championship Pro Drivers; ACO GT3 Le Mans Cup Overall; British GT Championship Team title.

Outlook 2018

The company confirms a confident outlook for the Fiscal Year 2018. In spite of lingering political uncertainties in the EU and on a global level, the key economic denominators remain generally positive. With sustained growth expected in the large economies around the world, the business outlook for Lamborghini continues to be solid. Due to its young and attractive product portfolio as well as the entry in the growing SUV segment, Lamborghini expects further growth with new dimensions of both unit sales and turnover in the medium term.

Aston Martin at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show

aston-martin_dubai--motor-show_2

The Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar makes a hugely anticipated appearance, being shown for the first time in the region to the public. The product of a unique Innovation Partnership between the British luxury brand and eminent F1TM team Red Bull Racing, this ambitious, uncompromising and wholly extraordinary collaboration combines the vision and skills of two world-leading brands to create a road car the like of which has never been seen before.

The show also sees the hugely iconic DB5 Convertible displayed. Regarded by many as the most beautiful Aston Martin produced, and an evolution of the final series of DB4, the DB5 is famous for being the most recognised cinematic James Bond car, first appearing in the James Bond film Goldfinger in 1964. Just 123 convertible DB5s were produced between 1963 and 1965, making it one of the rarest – and most desirable – models created.

The newly launched V8-powered DB11 is shown for the first time in the Middle East at the show. Aston Martin’s definitive GT – the acclaimed DB11 – is now available with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The new powerplant provides the opportunity to reveal more of the DB11’s sporting character, while expanding its global appeal with a combination of exceptional performance and improved efficiency.

Also displayed is a Middle East exclusive, the Vanquish S Pearl Edition, limited to just 10 models and inspired by the region’s long association with the pearl industry. The Vanquish S Pearl Edition takes the tradition, value and rarity of the pearl, with its regional roots and ties, and uses the artistry of the Q by Aston Martin team to create a truly spectacular car.

“To have such a diverse and renowned array of models on display under one roof in the Middle East is an absolute pleasure. The past few years have been busy ones for us as a marque, and here in-region we are heavily focused on reflecting CEO Dr. Andy Palmer’s vision of driving a renewal of the Aston Martin name,” stated Christopher Sheppard, CEO MENA, Aston Martin.

Raring to go, Aston Martin’s commitment to the Middle East is clear. Seven all-new cars are set to launch in seven years with a new model or derivative launching every 6 months – breathing life into the product line, and solidifying the company’s standing in the automotive world as offering a broad portfolio of products, cutting-edge technologies, and the absolute best of British design and craftsmanship.

The Vanquish Zagatos: Speedster and Shooting Brake join Coupe and Volante to complete quartet

vanquish-zagato-shooting-brake-Arab-Motor-World-01

One of the most enduring creative partnerships in the automotive industry reached another milestone today. First with the global debut of the Vanquish Zagato Volante, followed by confirmation that not only will the Vanquish Zagato Speedster enter production, but it will be joined by a spectacular Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake.

This ‘family’ of four Vanquish Zagato models will yield a total of 325 cars. As the first member of the family, production of the Vanquish Zagato Coupes commenced in late 2016. Next to enter production was the Vanquish Zagato Volante. Once again strictly limited to 99 cars (all of which have been sold), production has commenced and deliveries will be completed through 2018.

Of the two remaining models, the Vanquish Zagato Speedster is the rarest, with a production run of just 28 cars. As you would expect from one of the most collectible and covetable Aston Martins ever, all 28 Vanquish Zagato Speedsters have been sold with deliveries scheduled for 2018. Completing the quartet, the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake will also enter production in 2018, with a total build run of 99 cars matching those of the Coupe and Volante.

vanquish-zagato-shooting-brake-Arab-Motor-World-03

With all four cars based upon the Vanquish S, each Zagato enjoys the combination of 600PS naturally-aspirated V12 mated to the smooth, slick-shifting Touchtronic III transmission. Together with adaptive damping – fine-tuned for each model – the Vanquish Zagato family promises exceptional driving pleasure that is every bit as stimulating and memorable as their design.

The Speedster and Shooting Brake represent the two extremes of the Vanquish Zagato family. The former is an uncompromising roofless design that expresses the raw excitement of an open-top ultra-high performance sports car. The boldest aspect of the Speedster’s design is the Speed Humps that rise up to form streamlined cowls that flow back from the seats, representing Zagato’s signature ‘double-bubble’ roof. All the body panels are made from carbon fibre (like the other cars in the Vanquish Zagato family), while shared details, such as the Aston Martin Vulcan-inspired ‘Blade’ tail lights and repeated 3D Zagato ‘Z’ motifs in the front grille and rear vent meshes, create an unbroken stylistic thread that connects these otherwise individual creations.

The Shooting Brake is still a strict two-seater, but one conceived as an individual and exceptionally practical GT. The extended roof on the concept sketch bears the iconic Zagato ‘double-bubble’ surfacing complete with glass inlays to let light flood into the cockpit. The sculptural roof culminates in a powered tailgate that opens onto a luxuriously trimmed rear cabin area, complete with a tailored luggage set. With dramatic herringbone carbon fibre facia with anodised bronze rotary controls, extensive ‘Z’ motif quilting and the option of a fully aniline leather upholstery, the Shooting Brake is a fitting complement to the Coupe, Volante and Speedster.

vanquish-zagato-shooting-brake-Arab-Motor-World-02

Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, said of the Vanquish Zagato family: “We haven’t released Zagato models as a family before, at least not in this way, but the idea is not without precedent. Think back to the DB7 Zagato and DB AR1, or the V8 Zagato Coupe and Volante, for example. We’ve simply taken things a few steps further. Why create a family of Zagatos? Well, many of our customers want different things. Some prefer the purity of a Coupe, but others love the idea of something more extreme, like the Speedster. And yes, some of them have ordered one example of each. There’s always an over-demand from our clients and patrons. We could easily fulfill demand for more cars than this, but we want Zagato to remain something very special. We’re creating collectibles, future concours cars. With only 325 cars worldwide, divided between 99 Coupes, 99 Volantes, 28 Speedsters and 99 Shooting Brakes – they are still the rarest of the rare.”

Andrea Zagato, CEO of Zagato said of the enduring creative partnership: “Zagato’s relationship with Aston Martin began with my grandfather and the DB4 GT Zagato, almost sixty years ago. To have a creative ‘marriage‘ thrive for three generations is something as unique as the cars themselves. My family name is associated with all kinds of wonderful designs, but for many enthusiasts and collectors around the world those that combine the Z of Zagato with the wings of Aston Martin are the most special. Collaborating closely on the design of four complimentary, yet completely different Vanquish Zagatos has been an incredibly exciting challenge. I’m proud to continue the story my grandfather started and thrilled that our partnership with Aston Martin continues to realise such exciting cars.”
