The first ‘Q by Aston Martin – Commission’ marks Aston Martin’s continued Official Automotive Partnership with the Henley Royal Regatta – founded in 1839 and one of the world’s most prestigious and historic sporting fixtures. Following last year’s one-off Henley Royal Regatta DB11 Coupe, for 2018 Q by Aston Martin has turned its attentions to the DB11 Volante, creating a one-off model that takes inspiration from elite rowing’s fusion of technology and tradition.

Finished in a striking paint colour, White Stone, and with an interior trimmed in Red Oxide Caithness leather the car also features technical carbon fibre complete with stainless steel crossed oar motifs and hand-painted pale blue accents inspired by the rowing club markings found on the blades of rowers’ oars.

Contrasting against the white paintwork is a black convertible hood, forged gloss black diamond turned wheels, dark anodised brake calipers, smoked tail lights, exterior carbon fibre detailing, plus dark exhaust finishers and bonnet meshes. Priced at £199,995 the Henley Royal Regatta DB11 Volante is truly a one-off collectible.

The special Henley Regatta DB11 Volante will form the centrepiece of an Aston Martin display showcasing the 105-year-old marque’s range of acclaimed sports cars. More than 300,000 spectators attend the Regatta each year, which is held over five-days at its traditional venue of Henley-on-Thames.

The 2018 Henley Royal Regatta will take place from Wednesday 4 July to Sunday 8 July.

DB11 Classic Driver Edition

Q by Aston Martin’s next commission celebrates the 20th anniversary of Classic Driver, the world’s first website for sophisticated car collectors and enthusiasts. Working in close collaboration with Classic Driver’s lead designer, Benjamin Knapp Voith, Q by Aston Martin has created the DB11 Classic Driver Edition. Available as both the V8-powered Coupe and Volante only a total of just 20 examples will be built.

Inspired by Classic Driver’s signature green and grey colours and Aston Martin’s famous 1960s shade of Charcoal Grey, the Q by Aston Martin team developed a beautifully deep, gloss dark grey paint, with fine and subtle pearls which deliver an exciting green twist once exposed to sunlight. The bespoke colour, named Classic Driver Grey, is complimented by a ‘Q by Aston Martin – Collection’ carbon-fibre body pack, uniquely finished with a bespoke satin Eifel Green lacquer.

The unique colour scheme continues on the interior, where the seats, dashboard, and steering wheel have been beautifully trimmed in exclusive Eifel Green Caithness leather. As a final flourish, the Classic Driver logo is embroidered into the headrests in Parliament Green thread. Additionally, the Volante variant sports an exclusive Westminster Green textile roof. All 20 cars will also wear the Classic Driver logo on sill plaques and handmade enamel fender badges.

Since its launch in 1998, Classic Driver has become the preferred online magazine and marketplace for the most discerning classic car enthusiasts. With its trend-setting features, inspiring photography, and outstanding collection of the finest collector cars for sale, Classic Driver has influenced the automotive lifestyles and tastes of millions of readers worldwide.

The connection between Classic Driver’s founder – entrepreneur and Aston Martin collector Alexander Knapp Voith – and Aston Martin is long-established. Indeed, it pre-dates the website venture, as Knapp Voith opened an official Aston Martin and Lagonda dealership in Hamburg in 1991. “Having worked closely with Aston Martin, and having kept a special place in my heart for the brand for almost three decades, I am proud to celebrate Classic Driver’s anniversary with this limited-edition DB11,” says Knapp Voith. “For me, seeing both brands unite for this bespoke car truly feels like the perfect match.”

DB11 AMR – NEW PERFORMANCE FLAGSHIP OF THE DB11 RANGE

Aston Martin has brought a new dimension of race-inspired dynamism and performance to the DB11 family, with the introduction of the new DB11 AMR, launched today at the opening of the new Nürburgring-based AMR Performance Centre.

Replacing the outgoing V12-engined DB11 as the new flagship of the DB11 range, the DB11 AMR boasts greater power, increased performance, enhanced driving dynamics and a more characterful exhaust note, together with a suite of exterior and interior enhancements. Together they create a DB11 that offers a more vivid driving experience, yet preserves the maturity and effortless continent-crushing GT performance for which the original V12-engined DB11 is rightly renowned.

AMR – inspired by Aston Martin Racing’s successful endurance programme – pushes the envelope of performance for each model in Aston Martin’s range. Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017, the performance derivative has already delivered the previous-generation Vantage AMR and AMR Pro, with the highly-anticipated Rapide AMR forthcoming.

At the heart of the DB11 AMR is Aston Martin’s twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12. Now developing 630bhp, this gives the DB11 AMR an additional 30bhp compared with the outgoing DB11 V12, and 127bhp more than the V8-engined DB11. Torque remains unchanged at 700Nm.  A 0-62mph time of 3.7sec is an improvement of 0.2sec over the outgoing model while a top speed of 208mph makes the DB11 AMR one of the world’s swiftest GT cars and the fastest model in Aston Martin’s current series production range.

Striking the perfect balance between excitement and refinement, the handling of DB11 AMR has been refined by Aston Martin’s skilled dynamics team, led by Chief Engineer Matt Becker. Their work has delivered a greater sense of connection without harming the supple ride. Similarly, a new shift calibration for the transmission and a slightly more vocal exhaust note ensures the DB11 AMR expresses its character more explicitly when Sport mode is engaged.

Aston Martin President & Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andy Palmer, said of the DB11 AMR: “Since its initial launch back in 2016 the DB11 range has matured rapidly and intelligently, selling close to 4,200 V12 examples in that period. With the exceptional V8 Coupe and Volante we felt the V12 could reveal more of its sporting potential, while remaining the consummate GT. By applying a suite of carefully considered performance and styling enhancements the DB11 AMR is both faster – 208mph! – and more precise. It’s a combination that engages and cossets in equal measure to create a dynamic and seductive new flagship for the DB11 range, while consolidating the existing V12-powered DB11s as future collectibles”.

Visually the DB11 AMR is distinguished by a co-ordinated palette of exposed carbon fibre and gloss black detailing that unites the exterior and interior treatment. On the outside all brightwork has been given a monochrome treatment: dark headlight surrounds and smoked tail lamps complimented by dark front grille and tailpipes; gloss black roof, roof strake plus side sills and splitter offering a subtle contrast with the exposed weave of the carbon fibre hood blades and side strakes. The dark theme continues inside, with monotone leather and alcantara upholstery and a bold contrasting central lime stripe, while DB11 AMR is treated to a leather sports steering wheel as standard.

In addition to the extensive choice of standard colour and trim options, the DB11 AMR is available in three Designer Specifications, plus an exclusive AMR Signature Edition, which carries a striking Stirling Green and lime livery. With extensive carbon fibre detailing on the exterior, the inside is equally striking, with Dark Knight leather and Lime detailing, plus Satin Dark Chrome switchgear and Satin Carbon Fibre trim. Strictly limited to 100 units worldwide, the AMR Signature Edition is priced at £201,995.

Aston Martin’s accessories team have also provided a full suite of options for those looking to add further race-inspired styling to their DB11. These include a carbon-fibre engine cover, exhaust tips and a deployable spoiler that add further detail to the model’s exterior, while a new carbon-fibre sports steering wheel and paddeshifts bring that same AMR ethos within the cabin. For those heading off for weekend, expertly tailored luggage sets are available to match the car’s specification.

Aston Martin at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show

aston-martin_dubai--motor-show_2

The Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar makes a hugely anticipated appearance, being shown for the first time in the region to the public. The product of a unique Innovation Partnership between the British luxury brand and eminent F1TM team Red Bull Racing, this ambitious, uncompromising and wholly extraordinary collaboration combines the vision and skills of two world-leading brands to create a road car the like of which has never been seen before.

The show also sees the hugely iconic DB5 Convertible displayed. Regarded by many as the most beautiful Aston Martin produced, and an evolution of the final series of DB4, the DB5 is famous for being the most recognised cinematic James Bond car, first appearing in the James Bond film Goldfinger in 1964. Just 123 convertible DB5s were produced between 1963 and 1965, making it one of the rarest – and most desirable – models created.

The newly launched V8-powered DB11 is shown for the first time in the Middle East at the show. Aston Martin’s definitive GT – the acclaimed DB11 – is now available with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The new powerplant provides the opportunity to reveal more of the DB11’s sporting character, while expanding its global appeal with a combination of exceptional performance and improved efficiency.

Also displayed is a Middle East exclusive, the Vanquish S Pearl Edition, limited to just 10 models and inspired by the region’s long association with the pearl industry. The Vanquish S Pearl Edition takes the tradition, value and rarity of the pearl, with its regional roots and ties, and uses the artistry of the Q by Aston Martin team to create a truly spectacular car.

“To have such a diverse and renowned array of models on display under one roof in the Middle East is an absolute pleasure. The past few years have been busy ones for us as a marque, and here in-region we are heavily focused on reflecting CEO Dr. Andy Palmer’s vision of driving a renewal of the Aston Martin name,” stated Christopher Sheppard, CEO MENA, Aston Martin.

Raring to go, Aston Martin’s commitment to the Middle East is clear. Seven all-new cars are set to launch in seven years with a new model or derivative launching every 6 months – breathing life into the product line, and solidifying the company’s standing in the automotive world as offering a broad portfolio of products, cutting-edge technologies, and the absolute best of British design and craftsmanship.
