North American International Auto Show 2018 (Detroit)

The 2018 North American International Auto Show better known as the Detroit Auto Show held at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit wrapped up Sunday 28th of January 2018 with a total of 756,397 attendees over its nine public days, show officials reported. That’s up slightly over last year’s 755,229.

More than 700 vehicles were on display — 52 made their world debut, seven made their North American debut and 10 one-of-a-kind vehicles made their first appearance at an auto show.

More than 5,000 members of the media from 60 countries attended the show. Nearly 40,000 automotive and mobility experts and innovators from 2,002 companies engaged in emerging mobility technologies and trends.

Vehicles which made their global debuts at the 2018 NAIAS are named below:

On top of those world debut, The Honda Accord, Volvo XC60 and the Lincoln Navigator were crowned as the winners of the 2018 North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) awards.

AL TAYER MOTORS CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF FORD PICK-UP TRUCKS

UAE dealership stages largest F-150 parade with more than 200 vehicles to Sharjah’s Badayer desert

Al Tayer Motors, the official importer-dealer for Ford vehicles in the UAE, celebrated 100 years of Ford pick-up trucks with an event that brought together F-150 and F-150 Raptor customers and enthusiasts from all over the Emirates.

The event began from the Al Tayer Motors Ford showroom on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in Sharjah. Participants were in for a treat as they were able to see the newly arrived 2018 F-150 and F-150 Raptor vehicles, which were on display in the showroom for the first time.

A raffle draw was also staged, which saw three lucky vehicle owners Hussain Ahmed, Selvin Carvalho and Shanker Raipet win gift vouchers worth AED 25,000/-, AED 15,000/- and AED 10,000/- respectively, for Ford F-150 accessories.

After a short briefing by Roberto Lopes Da Silva, General Manager – Ford Sales, Al Tayer Motors, the vehicles made their way to the Badayer desert area in the emirate in a convoy of more than 200 vehicles – the largest for F-150 trucks driving together.

At the Badayer camp site, the F-150 and F-150 Raptor club members showed off the prowess of the car in handling the desert terrain with utmost ease. Owners demonstrated the unmatched off-road capabilities of their vehicles in navigating the desert landscape combining soft sandy areas as well as some challenging slopes.

Al Tayer Motors has a special offer on F-150, Ranger, Expedition and Explorer vehicles throughout December. Customers purchasing any of these vehicles will receive a voucher that entitles them to a complimentary 4X4 off-road training course through Emirates Driving Institute.

Designed by W Motors and engineered through the help of illustrious partners worldwide, Magna Steyr Italy and RUF Automobile Germany, the Fenyr SuperSport focuses mainly on performance, speed and driving pleasure without compromising its inherited luxury. The heart of this machine is a one-of-a-kind flat 6-cylinder 3.8L twin turbo, mid-rear engine, 800 horsepower and 1,000 Newton-Metre torque with a 7-speed double clutch transmission. This results in less than 2.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) and a top speed exceeding 400 km/h (249 mph).

Talking about the new vehicle unveiling, Ralph R. Debbas stated that “the Fenyr SuperSport is the most incredible car ever produced so far”.

Gathered guests were also able to witness exclusively the regional premiere of the ICONIQ Seven in both its Premium and VIP editions after their successful debut at the acclaimed Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year. Designed by W Motors design studio in Dubai, in collaboration with its partner ICONIQ Motors, the two fully electric MPVs are developed around the passenger with the purpose of bringing the latest in comfort and connectivity.

The ICONIQ Seven Premium Edition brings incredible features when it comes to passenger comfort, a key characteristic since the car was fully developed around the passenger’s experience while the VIP Edition being the ultimate version of the Seven platform, is the most sophisticated and refined fully electric MPV ever created, a combination of luxurious materials, advanced technology and unseen customization levels in its class.

“Today marks a huge milestone for the ICONIQ story, we are thrilled to open our first showroom and design studio. ICONIQ will surprise the Chinese market by incorporating supercar styling and aesthetics DNA into an electric vehicle,” said Alan Wu, President of ICONIQ Motors.

In addition, the famous Fast and Furious 7 Lykan HyperSport was also exhibited in the showroom.

Both partners have also unveiled the “L5 Autonomous Concept” targeted for Expo 2020 in Dubai. This advanced Level 5 vehicle, which is currently in its development stage through the help of world-class engineering and technology companies, such as AKKA Technologies along with several other multinational partners, will be launched mid 2018 in a first demonstration version, to be fully functional for the most anticipated Expo 2020.

86 Club & Orange Auto Season Kick-off Event

A total of 52 cars attended the 86 Club Season Kickoff, hosted by Orange Auto, a Dubai based 5-star car repair and maintenance shop.

All of the members were mesmerized by the Fast & Furious-inspired atmosphere that was created.  Highlight of the evening was a great and highly animated car show, with a live DJ setting the perfect ambiance and the surprise performance of a laser man.  The event gathered over 100 automotive fans and included contests with amazing prizes, compliments from Orange Auto, who offered a Ceramic Coating, window tinting and oil change. Brainstorm Tuning gave away a car tuning package to a lucky winner as well.

Many guests were surprised to see the one of fifty two Skyline GTR R1 in display, as well as a Toyota 86 with over 250,000 AED worth of modifications by Elite Autosports. The evening was very successful and the 86 Club season has officially kicked off! Stay tuned!

Each year as spring blossoms, Xclusive SARL hits the universities in Lebanon for an Awareness Automotive tour like no other. This year was no different with the Automotive Days taking place at the Lebanese American University and American University of Science and Technology.

On the 15th of March 2017, and in collaboration with the Safety Awareness Club, LAU Beirut Campus witnessed a one of a kind car show displaying the Old Vs New themed vehicles as students got the chance to see the evolution of the automotive industry from the classic 1960’s era till the latest models.

The awareness campaign focused on Total Liban’s new app for better maintenance and updated  with  the maintenance tips and scheduled checkups, WSP Italy focusing on the importance of having OE alloys and the dangers of installing random alloys on cars, in addition to MAZDA and ANB Motorcycle with their amazing setup and the Fool Gear Vs Full Gear concept for the 2-wheelers riders.

As for the 4th of April, and in collaboration with AUST Sport Club, the AUST Beirut Campus witnessed yet another crazy automotive day with the Old Vs New Theme with a very special addition of AUST Students’ best cars on campus. The Students voted for the best car of their choice and re-lived the Automotive day experience for the 3rd time in a row.

Both events were sponsored by Total Liban, Mazda and ANB Motorcycles and insured by Commercial Insurance with a special IT Support for the PlayStation Setup by DomTech.
