Jaguar has created a unique film to celebrate the 70 awards won globally by the F-PACE performance SUV.

The practical British-built performance family car counts the World Car of the Year 2017 and World Car Design of the Year 2017 titles among its 70 awards. Jaguar has celebrated this success with a unique film that dramatically captures F-PACE’s acclaimed exterior design and state-of-the-art engineering.

The film, called Blacklight, shows thousands of paint droplets being released simultaneously onto the F-PACE, highlighting its distinctive, sleek profile as they splash onto its bodywork. With the SUV covered in water and paint, giant fans force the mixture to follow the curves. It beautifully highlights the flow of air over the car, creating a stunning piece of automotive art.

“We set out to break the mould with our first performance SUV and everyone at Jaguar is thrilled with how well the F-PACE design has been received around the world. After winning 70 awards we wanted to create a film that reflects both its critically acclaimed design and the engineering that underpins everything we do at Jaguar. The result is as dramatic as the vehicle itself.”

Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar

During its development, Jaguar engineers went to extreme lengths to ensure the lines carefully crafted by the team’s talented designers also worked from a practical perspective. The film pays homage to the hundreds of hours spent refining the shape of the F-PACE in the wind tunnel, which resulted in an impressive drag coefficient of 0.34.

Ensuring the F-PACE slices through the air as efficiently as possible wasn’t their sole focus. The exterior has also been honed to minimise dirt accumulation – especially at the back of the vehicle. In this way, the rear of the F-PACE has been designed for the best possible rear visibility in adverse road and weather conditions.

The Jaguar F-PACE performance SUV has added a five-star Euro NCAP rating to its 2017 World Car of the Year title.

The performance SUV, which also won 2017 World Car Design of the Year at the 2017 World Car Awards, scored 93% for adult occupant protection, 85% for child occupant protection and 80% for pedestrian protection.

Combining award winning design, innovative engineering and now a five-star safety rating marks the F-PACE out as the ultimate family car. This result also confirms the current PACE family’s safety status following the recent award of five stars to the all-new E-PACE compact SUV.

F-PACE features advanced safety technology such as Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, as standard, which can detect a collision risk with cars or pedestrians in the road ahead and automatically apply the brakes. The system performed well, scoring maximum points in pedestrian tests as well as avoiding or mitigating all of the inter-urban scenarios.

“The Jaguar F-PACE combines award winning design and engineering with exceptional safety. The lightweight aluminium intensive body of the 2017 World Car of the Year provides excellent protection alongside the dynamic performance customers expect from a Jaguar.  Improvements to active safety technologies, such as Forward Traffic Detection and Driver Condition Monitoring, ensured F-PACE achieved the five-star Euro NCAP score.”

Nick Rogers, Executive Director, Product Engineering, Jaguar Land Rover

The F-PACE has become the fastest-selling Jaguar ever, with the 100,000th vehicle recently rolling off the production line at Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull manufacturing facility. The performance SUV has received more than 70 global awards, including the 2017 World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year titles.

The F-PACE features an aluminium intensive architecture with six airbags to create a super-strong occupant safety cell allied with a suite of advanced driver assistance systems. The combination of active and passive safety measures helped deliver an overall Euro NCAP rating of 85%.

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection: provides an audible forward collision warning and should the driver not take action, applies the brakes to help reduce the severity of a collision or prevent it
  • Forward Traffic Detection: is able to detect items crossing the path of the vehicle. It then provides a visual warning on the central screen when a potential hazard is detected
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist: automatically reduces speed should the vehiclew ahead slow down and, once the road ahead is clear, will resume its pre-set speed
  • Lane Keep Assist:detects unintentional lane drift and can guide the driver back towards the centre by applying a small amount of counter-steering
  • Reverse Traffic Monitor: warns the driver of vehicles, pedestrians or other hazards approaching from either side of the vehicle, providing audio and visual alerts
  • Driver Condition Monitor:senses driver fatigue by monitoring steering, brake and accelerator inputs to provide alerts when tiredness is detected
  • Blind Spot Assist: alerts the driver to vehicles in, or fast approaching, the blind spot with a flashing warning light and will guide the car safely away if the vehicle begins to change lanes

Jaguar F-Pace, Seductive British SUV

The Jaguar F-Pace is the latest addition to the Jaguar Family. The British manufacturer finally decided to take part in the worldwide growing market of SUVs and did a splendid job.

We took advantage of Dubai’s light October weather to have an in-depth look at this SUV that swept the world of its feet when launched back in September 2015, and exceeded all sales expectations worldwide. We had to see for ourselves what the fuss is all about.

We are very familiar with the British elegancy and the way it is reflected within the Jaguar Vehicles, especially that the F-Type, which was in our possession a few weeks earlier. This was a good opportunity to see if the British manufacturer was capable of making an impression that lasts in the SUV sector, just like it did in the premium sport sector.

We have seen the Jaguar F-Pace on several occasions and many times before; however, seeing it in its natural habitat has a completely different impact on our perception. Luckily, we received the 2016 Jaguar F-Pace S with an astonishing Polaris White color, which was so seductive it resembled an Olympic heroine on her wedding night. The controversy and mixed emotions took over as we looked at the F-Pace. It had a sporty look with light muscle curves all over. The front had a sporty slick design with the “S” design front bumper, narrow swept-back Adaptive LED Headlamps with Signature DLR, large grille centered by the Jaguar emblem, three large air vents, a touch of Satin chrome, and the “S” badge for that graceful athletic feel. Despite its relatively vast proportions, the lines from the sides all the way to the rear reflecting the Jaguar’s coupe-like profile coped with narrow window line and a hunkered shape gave it a smooth appeal, the Jaguar F-Pace is a fit female model by all means. The rear has all what is expected from a Jaguar “S” trim. It comes equipped with an aerodynamic design, dual exhaust sport tailpipes, LED taillights inspired from the F-Type, “S” rear bumper gloss black finish, and Satin Chrome diffuser. To wrap it up, this Jag comes equipped with a 20” 5 Spoke with Grey and Diamond Turned Finish. Judging by its exterior, the F-Pace is truly seductive.

Inside the cabinet, the view was no different. The F-Pace is without a doubt an elegant Jaguar on high wheels. The Jet Interior with Light Oyster Contrast Stitching and Taurus Leather Sports Perforation Seats truly reflect the identity of sportiness and chicness that Jaguar engineers revealed in every high-end Jaguar vehicle. I personally liked the gear knob when it elevates out of the center console, a stolen feature from the F-Type. The Jag SUV comes loaded with so many features, such as Sliding Panoramic Roof, Power Recline Rear Seats, State of the art Infotainment system, InControl Touch Pro Navigation (SSD), 12.3” Instrument Panel Display, Full Screen 3D Map View, and so much more.

On another note, nighttime has a different impact on the F-Pace passengers, with the Tron inspired Interior Mood Lighting system that takes you on a galactic journey when combined with musical notes generated from the 380 Watts MERIDIAN™ Digital Sound System with 11 Speakers.

Furthermore, the F-pace, despite being a medium size SUV, contains a rather large amount of space. It can easily fit 5 adults, even with the coupe-shaped roof, and it also has lots of cargo space distributed ergonomically around the inside cabinet, in addition to 650 liters of boot space with the rear seats in place, expandable to 1,740 liters when the seats are folded flat. In my opinion, the F-Pace could be one of the roomiest, medium size SUVs currently running in the market. So if you are an adventurer looking to stack your gears, a family person with many carry-on items, a woman who happens to like filling the truck with shopping bags, or a person who likes owning a spacious vehicle with multiple talents, the F-Pace has what it takes to fulfil your needs.

Admiring its look and seeing its features only pushed us passionately to test its capabilities, so we hit the motorway for a nice cruise inside the F-Pace, heading to our shooting destination. The ride was super smooth; the F-Pace felt remarkably car-like to drive. It benefits from quick and accurate steering that helps deliver impressive agility on curves and take overs. To complete the driving experience, we couldn’t but roar the F-Pace engine, bringing out the Jaguar within. Not so surprisingly, the F-Pace had what it takes under the bonnet to suit that sculptured sportiness. The Jag SUV comes equipped with a 3.0 Liter V6 Supercharged coped with an 8-Speed Automatic Transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift capable of producing 380 Horsepower with 460 Nm of torque, reaching a top speed of 250 Km/h and accelerating from 0-100 Km/h in just a whopping 5.5 seconds that fires you down the road with real ferocity. We wrapped up our cruise as we reached our shooting destination, and I can truly confirm that the F-Pace ride was joyful, pleasant, and elegantly British.

We were driving an AWD SUV, and we had concluded our photo shooting session; thus, there was no need to keep it shiny and clean anymore… An idea popped into my head; why not take it for an off-road spin? Even though this vehicle is not made for extreme off-roading conditions, it is capable of overcoming any obstacle that comes its way, from sandy pits to muddy ruts or a grassy field, supported by the loads of drivability technologies All Wheel Drive (AWD), Adaptive Dynamics, All Surface Progress Control (ASPC), Hill Launch Assist, JaguarDrive Control, Torque Vectoring, and so much more that give you the confidence to go for it. So, did we go for it?

All I can say is that very few Mid-sized SUVs are as fun or capable. Oh, and one more thing, it has a seductive price tag. To conclude, The Jaguar F-Pace is simply seductive, by all means.
