Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI)

The Huracán EVO features new Lamborghini rear-wheel steering and a torque vectoring system working on the four wheels, while at the heart of the car is the new feature of Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI): a Central Processing Unit that controls every aspect of the car’s dynamic behaviour, fully integrating all of the car’s dynamic systems and set-up to anticipate the next move and needs of the driver, interpreting this into perfect driving dynamics.

Lamborghini Piattaforma Inerziale (LPI), a comprehensive set of accelerators and gyroscope sensors placed at the car’s center of gravity, has been enhanced to version 2.0. With improved precision, it monitors in real-time the dynamic vehicle attitude regarding lateral, longitudinal and vertical accelerations, as well as roll, pitch and yaw rate. The magneto rheological suspension, upgraded to version 2.0, instantaneously adapts the damping following inputs from the LPI. A new advanced traction control system together with enhanced all-wheel drive and torque vectoring, allows traction to be directed to a single wheel as required.

Enhanced Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS), able to provide higher responsiveness in corners while requiring the lowest steering angles, is now coupled with rear-wheel steering in order to ensure agility at low speed, as well as maximum stability in high-speed cornering and under braking in the most severe conditions.

The unique combination of all these systems is governed by Lamborghini’s LDVI to create a super-agile and responsive car with unparalleled level of control. Processing data in real time, the Huracán EVO recognizes the driver’s intentions through steering wheel, brake and accelerator pedal inputs, engaged gear and the driving modes selected via ANIMA controller: STRADA, SPORT or CORSA.

External conditions are determined through active suspension and all-wheel drive grip estimation function. All of this information is analysed and processed by LDVI, which turns them into precise inputs for the vehicle dynamic system. A ‘feed forward logic’ is implemented via the dynamic controller, which means the car doesn’t just react, but predicts the best driving set-up for the next moment.

In STRADA, the Huracán EVO is agile and capable for driving enjoyment, whereas in SPORT it becomes playful, intuitive and extremely exciting. In CORSA the Huracán EVO is sharp, reactive and exhilarating for the most extreme driving environments, such as racetracks.

Design – aerodynamic superiority

The distinctive design defines the aerodynamic superiority and enhanced driving dynamics of the Huracán EVO. A new front bumper gives the car a low, assertive personality, but more importantly assures aerodynamic efficiency via the front splitter with integrated wing. The enlarged air intakes feature the Ypsilon shape that is inherent in Lamborghini design DNA.

The side profile of the Huracán EVO is articulately dynamic, featuring Lamborghini’s hexagon design references in the windows, the new wheel design and around the new side air intakes.

It is at the rear of the car that the Huracán EVO most distinctively evokes the power and dynamism that lies within. Reflecting the wide, open, naked rear seen in its race-car brother, the twin outlets of the new sports exhaust system are positioned high up in the car’s rear bumper. At the upper end of the tail an integrated, slotted spoiler provides enhanced air flow, clearly asserting the car’s aerodynamic abilities.

The Huracán EVO’s aero competency continues with the underbody, which has been shaped to maximize aerodynamic efficiency: the new integrated aerodynamic styling of the Huracán EVO improves downforce and aerodynamic efficiency more than five times over the first generation Huracán.

The presence and purpose of the Huracán EVO resonates throughout its design, but also in the notes from its exhaust, with a super exhaust sound reflecting the increased power and dynamic abilities of this latest Lamborghini.

Connectivity

A new 8.4” HMI capacitive touchscreen, located in the centre console just above the start button, puts connectivity at the driver’s fingertips, with multi-finger gesture control. Governing car functions including seats, climate and the status of the LDVI system in real-time it also puts all infotainment, such as Apple CarPlay with smartphone integration, at the cabin occupants’ disposal. A multimedia system incorporates connected navigation and entertainment including web radio and video player. The intuitive interface allows voice commands and puts the driver in touch with Siri.

An optional dual-camera telemetry system is also offered via the touchscreen, allowing advanced telemetry recording and analysis. An integrated high-capacity hard disk is also available.

Color/Trim and Lamborghini Ad Personam

The Huracán EVO is presented in Arancio Xanto, an iconic new Lamborghini four-layer color. New 20” Aesir rims, dedicated to the EVO, are complemented by Pirelli P Zero tires.

Inside, the Huracán EVO is a luxurious driver’s car. The interior features a dedicated new EVO trim in Alcantara and leather mix, with Arancio Dryope details matching the body tone.

The new sporty and elegant trim, features a number of bi-color and trim options as well as a highly sportive Alcantara option. Lightweight materials such as Carbon Forged Composites and Lamborghini’s patented Carbon Skin are available on request, and are highlighted by the new customisable ambient lights feature within the cabin.

Both the exterior and interior of the Huracán EVO are designed to maximise the specification possibilities, with several new options such as a wide range of Style Packs in shiny black and body color as well as Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program, which offers virtually limitless opportunity for owners to customise their Lamborghini.

Exclusive NOVITEC sports program for the new Lamborghini Huracán Performante

The new Huracan Performante highlights its sporty focus with a host of carbon touches on the bodywork already ex-factory. The NOVITEC designers specialize not only in giving the world’s most exclusive sports cars even more thrilling looks, but also in further optimizing their aerodynamic efficiency.

The designers followed this tried and proven recipe on the new Lamborghini lightweight-design model as well. They went into the wind tunnel to develop additional bodywork components that further optimize the aerodynamics and give the mid-engine sports car even more of a racecar appearance. The NOVITEC add-on parts are manufactured from the same Forged Composites® carbon fiber as the production components on the Performante. As a result, the new components sport that same special look, which is more reminiscent of marble than of carbon.

The front fascia is further enhanced with attachments on the left and right, and a further protruding central spoiler blade. These components lend the Lamborghini an even sportier appearance and further reduce front-axle lift at high speeds at the same time.

In addition, the Performante can be fitted with the NOVITEC trunk hood with integrated air ducts on the left and right. This sophisticated routing of the relative wind provided by the hood is also a factor in giving the Huracán even higher directional stability at high speeds. In addition, gill-shaped Forged Composites® attachments on the front wheel arches can lend the face of the Lamborghini even more of a sporty look.

The NOVITEC rocker panels add further profile to the sides of the ten-cylinder sports car. They give the Huracán an even lower and longer visual stance, and thanks to their enlarged air intakes, they optimize the supply of cooling air to the rear brakes. The use of Forged Composites® material for these components and for the mirror covers further emphasizes the racing looks.

The same material is also used extensively at the rear end: NOVITEC attachments on the left and right of the large rear airfoil give it a more pronounced wing profile. This further increases downforce at the rear axle in concert with the add-on parts for the production diffuser, which were optimized in the wind tunnel.

The NOVITEC designers also fine-tuned the engine hood: Two hood scoops direct more breathing air to the engine and provide even more thrilling looks as well.

The spectacular NOVITEC looks for the Performante also include tailor-made hi-tech rims, of course. The NOVITEC NL3 wheels for the Lamborghini were developed in cooperation with American manufacturer Vossen and are produced using state-of-the-art forging technology.

Because the Huracan Performante is optionally also available with center lock wheels, the one-piece NOVITEC NL3 forged wheels are likewise available with a choice of conventional five-bolt pattern or center lock. The NOVITEC NL3 design fascinates with six delicate spokes that taper off towards the outer wheel flange in a widely spread Y, thereby making the wheel seem extremely large.

The combination of 20 and 21-inch wheels on the front and rear axle puts even more emphasis on the wedge shape of the Italian sports car. The front axle is fitted with 245/30 ZR 20 Pirelli P-Zero high-performance tires on 9Jx20 wheels. The rear axle sports tires of size 325/25 ZR 21 on 12.5Jx21 rims.

The NOVITEC sports springs lower the ride height of the Performante by another 35 millimeters and offer further enhanced sporty handling.

Engine tuning for the sportiest version of the Huracán model series is currently still under development. However, already available are the NOVITEC RACE sport exhaust systems. These high-performance exhaust systems are made from stainless steel or optionally from the even lighter material INCONEL, which is used in Formula 1 racing. As a result, the NOVITEC high-performance systems optimize the performance of the V10 engine and produce an extremely sporty exhaust note at the same time.

Of course, NOVITEC also fulfils the most individual customer requests in the cockpit. The company creates sublime interiors from the finest leather and Alcantara in any desired color, finished with consummate workmanship in every detail.
