Six meticulous features that distinguish the all-new, three-row Cadillac XT6

Attention to detail is the mark of a luxury experience, so the 2020 Cadillac XT6 has been carefully curated to offer a refined ride and comfortable interior that elevate every drive.

“The interior environment is about simplicity, with an execution of premium materials,” said Andrew Smith, executive director, Cadillac Design. “We want the customer to focus on the experience —making each journey extraordinary.”

Some of design details in the XT6 are front and center, such as the exotic wood decor on the Premium Luxury model and the precision weave in the carbon fiber trim on the XT6 Sport model. Premium French seaming appears throughout the cabin, and perforations in the available ventilated front seats echo the shape of the Cadillac crest.

Finer details are woven into the fabric of the XT6’s functionality. They blend thoughtful design and clever engineering solutions to amplify the vehicle’s refinement, flexibility and comfort.

“The Cadillac XT6’s thoughtful details reveal themselves the longer you live with the car,” said John Plonka, XT6 chief engineer. “Our goal is to anticipate our customer’s needs for a refined, engaging ride, matched with an interior experience that provides a place of rejuvenation, connectivity and adaptability in all three rows.”

  1. A Dimensional Design That Foils Wear

A vehicle’s grille is literally and figuratively on the front line when it comes to appearance and wear. The XT6 Premium Luxury model stands up to tough road conditions with a bright grille finish created with a premium hot foil stamping process. The dimensional, foil-based finish is treated with a protective coating to make it more durable and easier to clean

  1. Spoiler Alert

Form and function blend seamlessly in the XT6’s rear spoiler. Its primary role is enhancing aerodynamic efficiency, but it also cleverly houses the rear window wiper and washer, as well as the available rearview mirror camera1 and wash. All are cleverly hidden beneath the spoiler’s trailing edge for a cleaner, smoother appearance — and an unobstructed rear view.

A hydrophobic coating on the XT6’s rear camera lenses helps resist mud, snow and spotting, a detail drivers will appreciate every time it rains or snows

  1. Seeing Clearly, Day or Night

The XT6 offers technologies to help support a clear, unobstructed view. The available Surround Vision camera system1 provides a bird’s-eye view of the vehicle, making tight maneuvers and obstacles easier to manage. The available Rear Camera Mirror1 provides a digital display that removes objects that could obstruct a traditional rear mirror view, such as passengers, headrests or the vehicle structure itself.

The available Night Vision1 system is designed to provide the driver with an infrared night vision image of the area beyond the headlamps that highlights and provides alerts when it detects pedestrians or large animals. The system provides additional alerts if the XT6 is approaching an identified pedestrian too quickly, potentially giving drivers more time to react

  1. A Place for Everything

The XT6’s first-row center console offers a convenient, lined and lit storage area with a dedicated phone compartment and standard wireless charging, a flocked change holder and cupholders with retractable lids. In the second row, the rear console drawer glides on metal rails for smooth operation and offers convenient storage space. Third-row storage includes individual cupholders and phone storage for both passengers.

The rear cargo area features underfloor storage with a clever cover that stays open in any position or at any angle for additional carrying capacity and easy loading — an elegant and thoughtful detail with immeasurable functionality.  The covered compartment in the floor of the XT6’s cargo area is perfect for stowing things out of sight.

  1. Breathe Easy

The available, next-generation air ionizer is designed to clean the XT6’s air by reducing airborne contaminants such as pollen and fine particulate matter. Cleaner air can make the drive more comfortable, particularly for those who suffer seasonal allergies.

  1. Safe Zone

Being a modern family crossover, the Cadillac XT6 offers the most comprehensive standard safety package in its class. It comes standard with seven airbags, including a roof rail-mounted head-curtain airbags for outboard positions of all three seating rows. It also gets an HD Rear Vision Camera with Remote Wash for impeccable visibility while reversing.

Other safety features include Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Front and Rear Park Assist, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Safety Alert Seat and Rear Seat Reminder. All in all, the XT6 is one of the safest vehicles in its class.

Design Distinction

The foundation for the XT6’s expressive design is its strong proportions, with distinct personas for the Premium Luxury and Sport models.

“The XT6 is unmistakably Cadillac,” said Andrew Smith, executive director of global Cadillac design. “It reinterprets our design language in a unique way, with the Premium Luxury and Sport models adding more sophisticated or aggressive character depending on preference.”

Bright Galvano exterior accents distinguish the Premium Luxury model, while the XT6 Sport is defined by darker accents and more aggressive, performance-inspired details, including available 21-inch wheels. Both models feature advanced lighting technology, including vertically emphasized LED signatures. Two headlamp variants are offered: a standard bi-function LED projector design or an available, performance LED headlamp system with a three-element projector array.

Driving Dynamics and Propulsion

The XT6’s driving experience offers a rewarding balance of responsiveness and refinement, with a feeling of solidity that enhances driver confidence. Those qualities are uniquely distilled between the Premium Luxury and Sport models, with a greater emphasis on road isolation in the Premium Luxury and a greater feeling of agility dialed into the Sport’s chassis tuning.

Customer-selectable drive modes allow the XT6 to adapt even better to driver preferences and changing road conditions. The modes are uniquely calibrated to support the characteristics of the Premium Luxury or Sport models.

AWD is available on Premium Luxury and standard on XT6 Sport. The Sport model features a Sport Control active twin-clutch AWD design that helps enhance the driving experience with active yaw control. Sport models also feature Continuous Damping Control active handling and a faster steering ratio that is tuned to support a more enthusiast-level driving feel, with increased feedback and greater overall responsiveness.

The XT6’s sophisticated driving dynamics are powered by a 3.6L DOHC V-6 engine estimated at 310 horsepower (231 kW) backed by a nine-speed automatic transmission featuring next-generation Electronic Precision Shift. To enhance fuel efficiency, Active Fuel Management technology enables V-4 operation when V-6 power is not required.

The 2019 XT6 makes its public debut at the North American International Auto Show Jan. 14-27 in Detroit. It will be manufactured in Spring Hill, Tennessee, and available for ordering this spring. Pricing and additional information will be announced closer to the start of production.

An Icon Turns 20: Lincoln Navigator by the Numbers

Lincoln Navigator Luxury SUV Arab Motor World

The release of the 1998 Lincoln Navigator marked a historical moment in the automotive industry; a luxury carmaker had branched into the SUV market. Now, 20 years on, the Lincoln Navigator has evolved and changed in ways only once imaginable, setting the benchmark once again for the luxury full-size SUV segment.

With the release of the 2018 model and introduction of the Presidential line in the Middle East, offering new personalised themes, the brand, more than ever, is focused on the consumer and creating a ride tailored to bringing out the luxury in us all. Here we are, twenty years later, celebrating numbers that helped this luxury SUV start a revolution.

  • 100 per cent segment-exclusive LED lighting makes the Navigator brighter from every angle, and a 100 per cent high-strength aluminium body allowed Lincoln to reinvest a bodyweight saving of 90 kg into even more tech.
  • Segment-exclusive 30-way Perfect Position seats with thigh extensions and multi-contour functionality will surely see you find your most comfortable groove.
  • 12-inch all-digital configurable instrument cluster that allows owners to choose the information displayed. There’s also 12 sources of power to charge personal devices.
  • 360-degree camera with enhanced park assist reduces the stress often associated with parallel and perpendicular parking.
  • 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, which improves fuel efficiency and smoothness of the ride. For comparison, the original Navigator only had a four-speed automatic transmission. A touch over 10 (1) inches is also the size of both adjustable multimedia touchscreens included in an available rear-seat entertainment system.
  • 4 tonnes (almost, at more than 3,900 kg) gives Navigator best-in-class towing capability. That would equate to one blue whale calf, approximately 315 solid gold bars, or around 22,500 new IPhone X’s.
  • Best-in-Class 450 horsepower and 691 Nm of torque driven by the 5-litre twin-turbo engine. When Navigator first rolled off the production line, its 5.4-litre Triton V8 could only produce 230 hp, which goes to show how far engine technology has come.
  • 7 drive modes are available with the available Terrain Management System. The different options, switched between with the turn of a dial, adapt automatically to different traction conditions. And with space for 7 passengers, not counting the driver, you really can carry the whole family to anywhere in style, and with the effortless power of Navigator.
  • 23,000 is the amount of times advanced sensors in the continuously controlled damping system monitors the road every second, ensuring the suspension soaks up road imperfections and the smoothness of your commute isn’t interrupted.
  • 20 impeccable Revel Ultima speakers from the exclusive Revel by Harman audio system. And of course, 20 is the amount of years Navigator has been available for those with impeccable taste. Though launched in July 1997, 1998 marked the arrival of Lincoln Navigator to its first customers, with its popularity after two decades seeing record-breaking growth.

BENTAYGA BREAKS SUV RECORD AT PIKES PEAK

Bentley Bentayga SUV Pikes Peak Arab Motor World (2)

The Bentley Bentayga has again demonstrated its outstanding performance credentials by claiming the outright record for a production SUV at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Driven by two-time champion Rhys Millen (NZ), the Bentayga completed the 12.42-mile course in just 10:49.9 – taking nearly two minutes off the previous record by averaging 66.5 mph. Climbing almost 5,000 ft through 156 corners, the Bentayga deployed its unique combination of a 600 bhp, 900 Nm W12 engine, adaptive air suspension, active electric 48V anti-roll control and carbon ceramic brakes to set a stunning new benchmark.

Bentley’s Member of the Board for Sales & Marketing, Chris Craft, comments:

“This record proves the outstanding dynamic ability of the Bentayga – demonstrating again how Bentley Motors is the only automotive company in the world that can combine pinnacle luxury and breath-taking performance. Congratulations to all at Bentley Motorsport and to Rhys Millen and his team.”

Speaking immediately after his run, Rhys Millen commented:

“What an incredible machine. To take a luxury SUV with minimal modifications and be able to drive up this course in under 11 minutes is a huge testament to the performance and level of engineering in the Bentayga. I had a great run – the car was planted all the way up and gave me the confidence I needed to push hard. I’m delighted to take the SUV record for Bentley and for everyone that’s been involved in this project.”

Only minimal changes were made to a standard production Bentayga in order to comply with the rules. The front seats were replaced with racing versions while the rear seats were removed, and a roll cage and fire suppression system were installed. Tyres were selected from Pirelli’s DOT-marked range, and a production-specification Akrapovic sports exhaust was fitted. In every other way, the Pikes Peak car is a standard Bentayga, finished in eye-catching Radium Satin paintwork accented by the all-black chrome and carbon fibre body kit provided by Bentley’s Black Specification.

Striking Limited Edition Bentayga celebrates new record

To celebrate the record-breaking run, Bentley is today announcing a new Limited Edition Bentayga, strictly limited to just ten cars. Created and handcrafted by Mulliner – Bentley’s in-house bespoke and coachbuilding division – the Pikes Peak Bentayga is an homage to the achievements of the Bentayga W12 on the mountain.

The Pikes Peak Bentayga features of number of eye-catching elements. The exterior is finished either in deep Beluga black paint or striking Radium, with 22” wheels in a bespoke two-tone finish of Beluga with Radium accents. The Black Specification is included, replacing all exterior chrome with gloss black components and adding a carbon fibre splitter, side skirts, diffuser and rear spoiler. A subtle Pikes Peak motif adorns the front fenders.

Inside the car, a Mulliner Design Colour Split marries Key Lime accents with Beluga leather, with Alcantara inserts to the seats and doors. The steering wheel and gear lever are also trimmed in Alcantara, and the headlining is technical Eliade cloth. A Pikes Peak logo decorates the carbon fibre fascias, and numbered Pikes Peak treadplates complete the interior.

Under the skin, the Pikes Peak Bentayga features the same engine and chassis systems as the record-breaking racer. Bentley’s iconic 6.0-litre twin turbo W12 provides 600 bhp and 900 Nm, fed through a ZF eight speed automatic transmission to permanent four-wheel drive. Adaptive air suspension and Bentley’s unique and world-first 48V electric active anti-roll control system (Bentley Dynamic Ride) ensure the perfect balance between refined ride comfort and optimum body control. The Bentayga Sports Exhaust and Touring Specification pack complete the car.

Al Tayer Motors begins deliveries of all-new Lincoln Navigator

Lincoln Navigator

Al Tayer Motors, the official UAE Lincoln importer-dealer, has commenced deliveries of the eagerly awaited all-new Lincoln Navigator. The full-size luxury SUV is available through Al Tayer Motors showrooms in Dubai and the Northern Emirates and Premier Motors showrooms in Abu Dhabi.

The all-new Lincoln Navigator made its regional debut at the Dubai International Motor Show in November to an enthusiastic response in the UAE.

“Interest from customers is very strong and we are excited about the resurgence of this American luxury brand, which began with the Continental last year,” said Ashok Khanna, Chief Executive Officer, Al Tayer Motors. “The all-new Lincoln Navigator is an exceptional product in the seven / eight seat luxury SUV segment and we look forward to a strong performance from the vehicle in the UAE.”

As part of the dealership’s 2018 Ramadan campaign, the all-new Lincoln Navigator is available with five years or 100,000 kilometres warranty and five years or 100,000 kilometres service contract with an added bonus of a one-night stay at the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel for confirmed bookings, subject to availability. The starting price of the vehicle is AED 351,750/- inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT).

“The all-new Lincoln Navigator’s arrival to the UAE has been our customers’ most anticipated yet,” said Alex Schaeffer, Director, Lincoln Middle East. “The full-size Lincoln Navigator SUV delivers on the Middle East customer’s top three wants; Power, Prestige and Presence.”

Modern Elegance
Navigator’s elegance is on display before the doors even open. Upon approach, the chrome Lincoln star logo on the grille softly illuminates. Then, LED lighting in the lower front body and tail-lamps subtly engages, and a luminous Lincoln welcome mat appears beneath the front doors.

At night, interior ambient lights sequentially illuminate each of the SUV’s three rows. During the day, a panoramic roof fills the cabin with natural light. A twin-turbo 3.5-litre engine produces best-in-class 450 horsepower and 691 Nm of torque, providing smooth power whenever you need it, delivered through a 10-speed transmission.

Navigator’s lighter, high-strength aluminium-alloy body removes around 90 kg, helping create a more refined ride. Additional weight savings have been reinvested in features such as towing capability and quietness. For example, laminated front and side glass contributes to the quietest Navigator cabin ever.

The all-new Navigator offers speed-dependent adaptive lighting, a new Lincoln technology that provides a wider spread of light at lower speeds for increased visibility – helpful when driving through residential areas. As the vehicle accelerates, the beam of light narrows to help eliminate the glare off signs or other distractions.

Beneath the sleek interior are inclination and intrusion sensors, which trigger an alarm if someone attempts to move or enter the vehicle.

Spacious, Luxurious Interior

Inside, spaciousness comes in all three rows, including storage in each to keep the cabin clean and organised. The all-new Navigator’s advanced cargo management system offers an adjustable shelf behind the rear seats that allows clients to create storage customised to their needs. Even with the vehicle parked on an incline, the feature ensures groceries won’t roll out when the lift gate is opened. The interior layout is clean and uncluttered, with a simple, soothing ambience.

“When designing the Navigator, we put an emphasis on ultra-luxury touch points,” says David Woodhouse, Lincoln design director. “We took everything the client would see and touch, and made sure it would look and feel a little more exuberant, a little more indulgent and incredibly beautiful.”

Staying connected is easy in the all-new Navigator with six USB ports, four 12-volt power outlets and a 230-volt plug. An available wireless phone charger in the first-row centre console media bin eliminates tangled cords. The client experience is further elevated through Lincoln’s new Personal Profile. It uses the key fob to recall individual driver preferences for adapting seat, mirror and pedal positions, as well as climate control and entertainment settings.

For owners desiring a more personalised look, Navigator comes with three Lincoln Presidential options – an exclusive collection of interior design themes and materials, plus a host of membership privileges.

The Navigator, with its segment-leading second and third row space, also comes
with three second-row configurations – three-person bench, two captain’s chairs with console, or two captain’s chairs with the convenience of a pass through. For customers wanting more storage, the Navigator L adds more than 430 litres of extra space behind the third row.

First-Class Seating For All
Even when the all-new Navigator is fully packed, each occupant can sit in comfort. The driver and front-seat passenger enjoy Perfect Position Seats, which offer massage, heating and cooling functionality, and can be adjusted up to 30 different ways.

Standard SYNC® 3 with both Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™** compatibility enables clients to manage audio, phone, navigation and more from the vehicle touch screen or steering wheel-mounted controls. Second-row passengers have their own audio and climate control, while third-row seats feature power recline capability.

A standard rear-seat entertainment system allows passengers to stream content wirelessly with an Android device to one of the 10-inch adjustable screens mounted on the rear of the front seats. Content also can be accessed from SD cards, an HDMI cable or USB drive.

Each screen can display different content, allowing a personalised entertainment experience for every passenger. Clients can enjoy available Revel® Ultima audio with 20 speakers that work in concert with Navigator’s interior design and acoustics. This transforms the cabin into a personal theatre with three distinct listening modes – stereo, audience and on-stage.

Family-Friendly Technology

Navigator is designed to be intuitive and easy to use. A 12-inch configurable instrument cluster allows drivers to choose the information they want displayed. An available Head-Up Display can show selected information on the windshield instead of the instrument cluster. Lincoln’s HUD is the brightest and clearest in the segment, with class-exclusive polarised sunglasses support, allowing drivers keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

It’s also easy to adjust to changing conditions. With the turn of a dial, the driver can adapt the Navigator to changing road or weather, and enjoy a smooth, confident ride.

The All-New Porsche Cayenne 2018 from Fujairah to Oman

The story of the Porsche Cayenne began about 15 years ago. In 2002, Porsche unveiled the first generation of Cayenne, which shocked the world at that time as the first sporty luxurious SUV. The Cayenne sales have surpassed the 770,000 units, creating a new boom in the automotive world and an unparalleled success story in the automotive industry. Now, after the launch of the third generation of Cayenne, the Cayenne is ready to complete the chapters of this success story.

We heard a lot about the new Porsche Cayenne and we saw it at Dubai International Motor Show however the driving experience was completely different and exceeded our expectations.

We started our journey on the Cayenne 2018 from early morning just after sunrise from the Emirate of Fujairah, one of the seven Emirates in the United Arab Emirates, heading towards the Sultanate of Oman. But before we dive in the details of our long awaited trip and feel the rush of the driving experience, admiring the exterior is a must to better understand the new philosophy adopted by the German manufacturer in his All-New 2018 Porsche Cayenne SUV.

On the platform level, the 2018 Porsche Cayenne was built on a completely new and bigger platform that contributes significantly in increasing the cabin space without oversizing the exterior of the SUV and also contributes greatly in weight reduction despite the presence of a large number of new electronic systems, in addition to being one of the main new factors in maintaining balance and stability while driving. As for the exterior design, the All-New 2018 Cayenne was influenced big time by the traditional successful design of the Cayenne’s previous generations. However, in a quick comparison between the new and previous generations, you can clearly notice the difference on the front of the SUV with bigger bumper vents, a prominent and more elevated hood, adoption of LED headlights and more. Moving to the rear, where the change is undoubtedly dedicated to the New Cayenne, the German manufacturer adopted a Panamera-inspired LED integrated Taillight belt which I personally loved the way it gives the Cayenne its elegance and futuristic design. In addition to the other elements inspired by the sporty design of the 911 such as the new adaptive roof spoiler, the first of its kind in the category of SUV, among other items. In short, the all-new Cayenne became a car that combines the Panamera’s elegance, the 911’s sportiness and the SUV capabilities.

Moving on to the inside of the All-New Cayenne 2018 and as soon as we entered the cabin, we were impressed by the materials used and the layout of controls. The Cayenne reflected its trio design of being at the same time a Panamera, a 911 and a Cayenne. The super comfortable leather seats of the Panamera coped with the one-piece front seat design inspired by the 911 and the wide space of an SUV was even more sporty and stylish. The Piano Black centre console with the elimination of the buttons and moving the controls into the 12.3-inch screen was a true reflection of the new identity and philosophy of the German manufacturer Porsche in elegance and sportiness. The Cayenne placed the driver as the centre of attention, giving him full control over the functions of the car in a safe and convenient layout, and to top it, the Porsche engineers implemented the “Porsche Management System” PCM – to create the perfect link between the driver and the car.

Seated comfortably inside the Porsche Cayenne, we set off on our journey from Fujairah to Oman where we started driving at first on paved roads and got the chance to unleash the Cayenne S powered by a 2.9-liter V6 Twin turbocharged engine producing 440 horsepower coped with the new 8-speed Tiptronic S gearbox. The push and the rush we’ve got gave us a sense of power, especially after setting the driving mode on “Sport +” located on the multi-functional steering wheel, but the real sense of speed and adrenaline rush was indescribable when we pressed the “Sport Response Button”, the Cayenne screamed with all its force for twenty seconds, giving us the sense of speed and driving sensation of a race track. Moreover, and as the Cayenne is also a car inspired by the luxury sedan, it is necessary to mention the complete comfort during the driving experience on the paved roads in addition to sound insulation from outside the car for further comfort and luxury. It is worth mentioning that the SUV also comes in two additional trims besides the Cayenne S: ” The Cayenne Turbo” that comes with an eight-cylinder Twin-Turbo producing 550 hp and capable of reaching 0 to 100 km / h in about 4 seconds and a maximum speed of 286 km / h and the Cayenne base version with a turbocharged six-cylinder 3.0-liter engine generating 340 horsepower.

The Cayenne is also equipped with a large number of advanced systems that contribute significantly to the driving comfort on all types of roads and speeds in terms of suspension, brakes and electronic systems such as 4D Chassis Control, PDCC and Rear Axle Steering in addition to the three-chamber air suspension and the Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB), which both appear for the first time on any vehicle.

Our journey on the paved roads came to an end as we entered the rugged track in Oman. The driving style changed from normal driving to the off-road mode. Even the Off-road mode has several driving styles that allows the un-experienced driver to enjoy a hassle-free and safe off-road adventure. Our selection of Gravel driving mode was suitable for the nature of the roads we were experiencing.

We ended our off-road trip after more than four hours of comfortable driving despite the rocky nature of the mountain passageways we were cruising. We were truly impressed with the capabilities of this sporty yet elegant machine. On our journey back home, we were able to enjoy the sophisticated entertainment system of the Cayenne “Porsche Connect” and the intelligent AI voice command function that allow the driver to always be connected and put a wide range of services at the driver’s fingertips, all contributing to ease the burden of any long journey.

Finally, we can say that the Porsche Cayenne has exceeded all expectations in its segment and has laid new trends that determine the path to follow when designing a luxury SUV.

Bentley Veneer Hunters: Sustainable, Unique, Exquisite

Bentley-Bentayga-with-Liquid-Amber-Veneer-1--Arab-Motor-World

Bentley recently added its first new veneer in five years – Liquid Amber – to its collection. This is the luxury British brand’s seventh exclusive veneer, encapsulating its quest for the finest materials and catering to discerning customers in the Middle East and worldwide.

The fact that new veneers are an extremely rare occurrence in Bentley interiors is due to the extraordinary lengths that the brand’s team of expert veneer hunters go to in order to source the finest materials in the world.

Watch the new film documenting the journey the veneer hunters take to bring sustainable, unique and exquisite veneers to Bentley customers below

Liquid Amber: A Stunning Contemporary Veneer

Liquid Amber is sourced from the American Red Gum – or American Sweet Gum tree – which grows along the rich, moist soils of the Mississippi wetlands in the south-eastern states of America.

The tree’s resin is called Liquid Amber – a reference to its perfumed scent. Bentley sources only the highest quality trees, and harvests the veneer just twice a year due to restricted access across the wetlands on which it grows.

The wood undergoes a natural smoking process, which takes several weeks, to give it a deep, rich brown lustre while maintaining the warm, red hue. The Liquid Amber veneer is then transported 4,500 miles back to the team of experts in the Bentley woodshop in Crewe, where it is examined alongside the six other carefully chosen veneers available exclusively to Bentley customers.

In Pursuit of Perfection – Sourcing the Finest Materials

The seven veneers Bentley offers, including eucalyptus and olive ash, are sourced by Bentley’s own veneer hunters, from countries as far apart as Canada and China.

Bentley only ever uses the finest materials, sourced from the very best species, for its cars. For example, it can take a full week to review 20,000 square metres of walnut material for the burr walnut veneer.

Bentley typically rejects between 30 and 70 percent of veneers offered and all materials must have a high-burr density, minimal sapwood and feature no bark growth or structural defects.

Each raw veneer is cut to a precise 0.6 mm layer, and each bundle of raw veneers must pass rigorous Bentley tests for stability in UV light and consistency from tree to tree. This process takes at least 18 months before the veneer is placed into a car.

Beyond Veneer

Another new material that provides an individual statement of luxury is Bentley’s stone veneer. This innovative interior finish makes a luxurious, contemporary feature of a natural product formed over 200 million years.

The slate and quartzite stone is sustainably sourced from hand-selected quarries in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, India – a nation with an ancient and rich culture of stone masonry.

The sections of stone are split from larger pieces and cured using glass fibre and a bespoke resin. Finally, they are shaped and finished by hand by Bentley’s world-renowned Mulliner coachbuilding team at the company’s headquarters in Crewe, England.

Performance and precision: The Bentley Bentayga V8

Bentley Bentayga V8-Arab-Motor-World-00

Since its introduction, the Bentley Bentayga has defined a new sector and set the luxury SUV benchmark, offering customers the ultimate Grand Touring experience unrestricted by landscape or conditions. The award-winning Bentley model is now available in its most sporting guise to date – the Bentayga V8.

At the heart of the latest Bentayga model is a new-generation 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine which combines immense power with impressive fuel efficiency. The addition of a characteristic V8 burble, stylish twin-quad exhaust pipes and optional carbon-ceramic brakes, reveals more of the luxury SUV’s sporting character.

Sitting at the core of the Bentayga range, the new V8 model fuses exquisite luxury with power, usability and extensive sporting ability. Its responsive performance is fully customisable on demand by the driver through Bentley’s Drive Dynamics system, from limousine-like refinement to sporting precision.

Inside, customers will recognise Bentley’s unique approach to modern luxury tailoring, with the familiar blend of exquisite handcrafted materials and advanced technologies. New styling features include a wood and hide steering wheel and the introduction of a high-gloss carbon-fibre interior panel finish.

Immense Performance, Impressive Efficiency

At the heart of the new Bentayga V8 sits an all-new 4.0-litre, 32-valve, V8 engine featuring dual twin-scroll turbochargers located inside the ‘V’ of the engine.

The dynamic unit develops 542 bhp (550 PS) and 568 lb.ft. (770 Nm) of torque, resulting in a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h) and 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds (100 km/h in 4.5 seconds).

The class-leading performance of the Bentayga V8 is complemented by a range of 464 miles (746 km), with CO2 emissions of 260 g/km. This refined efficiency (24.8 mpg / 11.4 l/100 km combined) comes, in part, through the ability of the engine to de-activate four of its eight cylinders in suitable conditions, without compromising the drive. The seamless change happens in just 20 milliseconds, making it imperceptible to customers.

The addition of Stop-Start technology, which can activate at ‘near-to-stop’ speeds, also contributes to the emissions figure.

This unique blend of power and refinement gives the Bentayga V8 a distinct, unrivalled position in the luxury SUV market.

Bentley Bentayga V8-Arab-Motor-World-01

Striking, Individual Exterior Design

The exterior design of the Bentayga V8 reflects the model’s sporting position within the Bentayga family.

The shape is defined by the Bentayga’s unique muscular, sculptural lines, balancing athleticism with an unmistakable presence on the road. From the four round LED headlamps to the large matrix grille, the Bentayga V8 exudes the Bentley design DNA, while the overt powerline, large rear haunches and raised ride height reflect the rugged off-road ability of the luxury SUV.

For the first time, optional carbon-ceramic brakes are offered on the Bentayga. The braking system is the largest and most powerful ever fitted to a Bentley, and the largest front brake system available on any production car.

The brake discs measure 440 mm in diameter at the front and 370 mm at the rear, and sit inside enormous Bentley-branded calipers, with 10 pistons at the front. Together these provide a maximum braking torque of 6,000 Nm.

Also introduced on the Bentayga V8 are sporting red brake calipers for the front and rear standard iron brakes. The calipers are painted in special, high-temperature resistant Tornado red paint, and signal strongly the dynamic intent of this performance-oriented Bentayga V8.

In front of these sit a choice of 11 wheel designs, including an all-new 22” five-spoke wheel with black painted and polished finish.

A purposeful black and chrome grille at the front is complemented by Bentley ‘twin-quad’ exhaust tailpipes at rear, both of which provide a further subtle reminder of the new engine specification.

Bentley Bentayga V8-Arab-Motor-World-02

Sublime, Handcrafted Luxury Interior

The Bentayga V8 continues the Bentley tradition of intricate detailing and fine, handcrafted precision using authentic materials. Customers can specify hand cross-stitching, which highlights the interior styling lines of the seats and door panels, and there is the choice of the Bentayga’s four-, five-, or seven-seat configuration, for ultimate versatility.

Three innovative new interior options are offered in the Bentayga V8: a high-gloss carbon-fibre finish replacing traditional veneer surfaces; a wood and hide steering wheel; and a new rich red leather, Cricket Ball.

For the first time in a Bentley, a high-gloss carbon-fibre finish is offered to customers seeking a contemporary, technical feel. Bentley has traditionally offered a matt carbon-fibre surface to replace the veneer on panels including the fascia, centre console and door waistrails, but this is the first time the finish has been offered with a high gloss, which enhances the technical weave.

Another first – the wood and hide trimmed steering wheel – can be specified in the Bentayga V8. Uniquely, the new three-spoke, wood and hide trimmed wheel (available in seven different veneer finishes) uses a solid wood base and thus maintains the integrity and authenticity of interior features offered by Bentley.

Cricket Ball leather makes its debut in the Bentayga V8. The evocative new colour is inspired by the traditional and instantly appealing deep chestnut hue of a new cricket ball, and fits perfectly into the inspiring range of 15 interior colours and five colour splits offered by Bentley.

Effortless Bentley Performance, Unrestrained by Climate or Terrain

The Bentayga V8 is available with Bentley Dynamic Ride – the world’s first electric active roll control technology that utilises a 48V system. This system instantly counteracts lateral rolling forces when cornering and ensures maximum tyre contact to deliver class-leading cabin stability, ride comfort and exceptional handling.

Bentley’s adaptive and reactive system provides variable torsional resistance, allowing the Bentayga to be both dynamically capable and comfortable for all occupants at all times. The pioneering use of a 48V system results in silent, instantaneous responses to deal with all road surfaces.

The Bentayga V8 offers class-leading ride comfort, steering feel and handling thanks to the partnership of a highly sophisticated chassis and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). In addition to advanced, multi-mode Traction Control (TCS), the Bentayga also features Hill Descent Control.

Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS) is also featured on the Bentayga. The new system improves feedback to the driver, while providing isolation from steering kick-back both on- and off-road. EPAS also features a variable rack ratio, permitting light and fast steering while manoeuvring at low speeds, as well as a more subdued response for excellent stability at high speeds.

The Bentayga offers the widest range of on- and off-road drive settings of any vehicle via Bentley’s Drive Dynamics Mode and optional All-Terrain Specification. Up to eight modes (four on- and four off-road) are available, allowing drivers, at the simple turn of a dial, to select the perfect dynamic set-up for any surface or road condition.

All-Terrain Specification allows the customer to select the appropriate vehicle settings for a wide range of off-road surfaces, including Snow & Grass, Dirt & Gravel, Mud & Trail and Sand Dunes. Meanwhile, the Driver Information Panel displays information on pitch, roll, wheel articulation, steering angle, compass bearing and altitude.

The Bentayga V8 comes with multi-mode air suspension. The driver has four different modes to choose from: High 2, High 1, Normal and Low. High 2, for example, can be manually selected when tackling more severe off-road surfaces. Customers can also lower the rear suspension via a switch in the boot, to ease loading and trailer hitching.

Hill Descent Control automatically regulates the vehicle’s speed on steep declines, allowing the driver to concentrate fully on steering and obstacles ahead. It can be pre-set at speeds between two and 30 km/h (going in either direction) and works on gradients greater than five per cent.

Innovative Features and Advanced Technologies

A suite of state-of-the-art driver assistance systems and infotainment features designed to enhance safety, comfort and convenience make the Bentayga V8 an innovative, advanced and connected luxury SUV.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) including Stop & Go, Predictive ACC and Traffic Assist enables the driver to maintain a set distance to the vehicle in front. Predictive ACC uses the navigation data, sensors and cameras to predict upcoming corners, city boundaries and speed-limit changes and can then modify the vehicle speed accordingly, improving both comfort and fuel economy.

In urban environments, there are a number of driver aids available on the Bentayga V8. These systems – such as Traffic Sign Recognition, which detects a wide variety of traffic signs and displays information to the driver; Rear Crossing Traffic Warning, which uses radar technology to detect crossing traffic when reversing out of a parking space; and Top View, a system which uses four cameras to display an overall picture of the vehicle’s surroundings – combine to enhance everyday usability.

Park Assist is also available – a system that detects suitable parking spaces (both parallel and perpendicular) before autonomous steering takes over to support parking manoeuvres.

Other innovative systems available include Night Vision, which uses infra-red technology to identify potential obstacles ahead, and a Head-Up Display, which reduces driver distraction and increases safety.

The Bentayga’s 8” touch screen infotainment system boasts class-leading navigation technology, a 60GB hard drive, and a choice of up to 30 languages. Rear seat passengers benefit from the introduction of the Bentley Entertainment Tablet – a removable 10.2” Android device with 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth for effortless, high-speed on-board connectivity.

Customers can choose between three different sound systems for the Bentayga V8: Bentley Standard Audio, Bentley Signature Audio and Naim for Bentley Premium Audio. The latter is the most powerful system in the segment, with 1,950 watts, a network of 18 speakers and super-tweeters for unrivalled recreation of the highest audio frequencies.
